Treatment for TMJ

Our TMJ patients are rarely referred to oral surgeons. Most of the time TMJ dysfunctions can be successfully treated through conservative, non-surgical methods. The usual treatment for TMJ involves a oral appliance therapy and sometimes a referral to a physical therapist to increase range of motion.

It's possible for patients to see improvement in only two to three weeks. The full length of TMJ treatment usually ranges between three to six months. Dr. Padamsee doesn't take a one-size-fits-all approach to treating temporomandibular joint disorder — instead, patients are assessed and treated on an individual basis. When you visit our Wellesley office for TMJ treatment, you'll receive a treatment plan that is customized to your needs.
